Symphonik Choir

The main project of Symphonik Section is Symphonik Choir. Symphonik is a four-voice choir of approximately 20 singers and an accompanying band who play in several concerts and gigs, alone or with other performers.

Symphonik Choir knows its origins to Strummin’Home 6, when after taking part in this annual event organised by the Young Christian Workers (Malta), some of the participants decided to join forces and set up a choir which eventually evolved into a YCW Section.

Under the direction of Stephen Ferrito, who also writes most of the arrangement for the pieces performed, the choir mainly performs cover versions of several songs. Occasionally, the choir also performs original songs which are written and composed by members of the choir and the band themselves.

The choir and band members come from several walks of life and they bring to this group several talents and a lot of hard work. Above all they bring their musical souls, and whilst providing professional and fun performance for their audience, they also contribute to the Young Christian Workers’ aim to promote social justice and raise awareness on such issues.
