For the sixth year running, ŻĦN Symphonik presented another edition of Akustika - a night of acoustic music, on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th April! Audience applauded to a mixture of pop, rock, blues and jazz, all performed acoustically.

Some of the most popular songs played on the night were Supertramp’s “The Logical Song”, Queen’s “Seaside Rendezvous” and also some recent chart toppers such as Paramore’s “The Only Exception”.

Akustika always aims to provide a relaxing evening of acoustic music for all ages. As in previous editions, the band performed pieces from different musical genres as well as original material, through which the band tries to show the beauty of each instrument, and how in today’s world of commercial music, the instruments are still valid in contemporary music. The concert is organised under the auspice of Żgħażagħ Ħaddiema Nsara and the section Symphonik, that works to raise awareness of social issues through music and the arts.

Akustika are Janice Debattista, Jean Claude Vancell, Isabel Zammit, Malcolm Bonnici, Martina Falzon, Luke Vella Clark, Chris Ciantar and Sean Borg.

The concert was held in the St James Cavalier Music Room, Valletta.
