On 27th and 28th March 2010, ŻĦN Symphonik presented its fifth edition of the Akustika concerts to a delighted audience at the St James Cavalier Music Room in Valletta.

Those who attended enjoyed a mixture of pop, rock, blues and jazz, all performed acoustically. Some of the most popular songs played on the nights were the Beatles’ hit “Strawberry Fields Forever”, The Tramps’ “Xemx” as well as some recent chart toppers such as Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida”. Some original songs written by the band members themselves were also presented.

Akustika are Jean Claude Vancell, Janice Debattista, Isabel Zammit (vocals), Malcolm Bonnici (guitar), Mario Farrugia (bass), Matthew Fenech (strings/saxophone), Martina Falzon (piano) and Luke Vella Clark (percussions). For four years running, Akustika have been covering hit songs from the sixties to present day.
